Every design decision came from the field: does it work with what we have, what does it save us, and will it hold up.
V 3/6 came to Protocable with a specific problem: the cabling in their kits didn't cleanly bridge the AN/PRC-163, the Invictus PTT, and the EUD cabling in their MCH kits. Protocable designed, prototyped, and mass-manufactured these assemblies to give them the simplest, most effective option possible. They have since been thoroughly tested and fielded, with audio and data connectivity performing flawlessly.
Maximizes compatibility with the Invictus PTT and the existing EUD cabling inside MCH/THS kits. Lengths are optimized for MCH/THS cabling and PTT. No additional cables required.
Because we prioritized compatibility with the existing MCH/THS EUD cable, the unit keeps the cables and cases it already owns.
No excess or bulky connectors and no in-line NATO 6-pin. Significantly slimmer than the L3H cable set, with no additional audio cables in the loop. There is not a more dialed cable for use by Marines.
Price and lead times beat competing options. Manufactured in-house by Protocable, so scaling from a prototype to a unit-wide buy doesn't depend on a distributor's queue.

The cable stock in these assemblies was designed and manufactured specifically for this application. The lengths, overmolding and strain reliefs are designed to minimize the equipment's presence so Marines can focus on the mission at hand instead of fighting to route cables through their kit.

Units with existing ComTac V Peltors and Invictus PTTs can receive either a Single or Dual Channel PTT with EUD that is native to the cabling system found in MCH/THS (Nett Warrior) connection, not the 12-pin ODU connector that comes with the L3H cable, saving us from buying a different EUD cable. This is a one-stop shop solution that is cost effective and scalable to the unit's existing inventory.
